Westminster, London, England, UK
Years active 1993–present
Rachel is an English screen and theatre actress. She gained wide public recognition after her portrayal of Evelyn "Evy" Carnahan-O'Connell in the films The Mummy and The Mummy Returns. In 2002, she starred opposite Hugh Grant in the hit About a Boy and continued to garner leading roles in Hollywood productions. Her performance in The Constant Gardener (2005) won her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, along with other major motion picture awards.
Londoner Rachel Weisz first shot to FHM's attention arguably out-hotting fellow list member Liv Tyler in 1995’s Stealing Beauty.
The daughter of an Austrian psychotherapist and Hungarian inventor, Weisz became mainstream playing Evelyn in comic horrors, The Mummy and The Mummy Returns and anyone but Hugh Grant would have dropped the nerdy kid and focused all attention on her in About A Boy.
Now approaching 40, Rachel’s posh husky tones and consistent critical praise (she won an Academy Award for The Constant Gardener) seem to guarantee her place on the silver screen for years to come yet.
